A Traveller in Time – play adaptation by Michael Johnston

A Traveller in Time by Alison Uttley, based on her pre-war children’s novel, was adapted with the permission and approval of the Uttley Estate.

The heroine, young Penelope, is sent to stay with her great aunt in the Derbyshire farmhouse that dates back to Tudor times and experiences time-slips, moving between the years just before the Great War and Elizabethan times where she becomes involved in the lives of the Babbington Family and their plans to liberate Mary Queen of Scots.

Apart from Penelope, all the characters double roles in both periods.
